A dramatic propaganda poster printed in Dresden, Germany during the First World War, this unusual piece depicts a nude archer with bow drawn, enveloped in flame and with hair flying forward like the horns of a powerful satyr. The poster reads, in German: der 9te Pfeil/ zeichnet Kriegsanleihe. Artist Fritz Erler was an acccomplished painter and illustrator, and is known for his posters for the German cause during The Great War, most depicting soldiers or airmen.
