Seated Male

Widely known for his portraits and surreal landscapes peopled with finely-rendered nude males, this pencil portrait is an especially beautifully drawn figure. Although the drawing is undated, the figure's period "brush cut" hair dates this piece to the 1940s or 1950s. He sits on a barely-defined, almost invisible bench, but his face and beautifully-proportioned torso and musculature is very finely drawn.
