Johnson Medal for Research & Development

This medal is a classic, high-relief example of Art Deco sculpture, created to honor the founder of Johnson and Johnson by Abram Belskie. The sculptor studied in Scotland and exhibited there for several years, but upon his return to America he made strong connections to the world of science and museums. His work can be found at the Field Museum and the New York Academy of Medicine (where he worked for seven years).
