This is the 43rd issue of the Society of Medalists in 1951, and as sculpted by Albert Wein it shows the powerful Creator making earth and its living inhabitants. Wein's muscular, exaggerated style is reminiscent of the hyperbolic figures of Donald De Lue, as is Wein's love of otherworldly settings of cosmic grandeur; however, Wein's figures are more angular and severe than De Lue's. This medal has been struck in a way that gives Wein's design a strong three-dimensional effect. In the 1930s, Wein won prizes in competitions sponsored by the Atlantic Terra Cotta Company and the Metropolitan Life Insurance Company.
