Celebrating the Harvest Exquisitely sculpted and finished in a luscious ivory glaze, this pair of putti figures -- celebrating the harvest, or perhaps embarking on a Bacchanale -- was produced by the Schwarzburger porcelain works in Vienna. Under Adolf Pfeiffer, this firm was renowned for hiring some of the finest sculptors of the day to create new pieces, including Ernst Barlach, Adolf Gerhard Marcks, Max Esser, Gerhard Schliepstein and Dorothea Charol, some from the Weimar school of sculptors. These dancing figures -- one holding grapes, and the other grain -- have the energy of the Baroque combined with the stylization of Art Deco. To Order: Click on the "Add to Cart" button above.
